Management Team J.J. McCarthy J.J. is the chief business strategist, fundraiser, and client development manager for SecondFloor. Prior to SecondFloor, J.J. was the General Manager of YouZoom.com, a provider of comparison shopping technology to over 200 insurance agency clients including the Bank of America, Costco, E*TRADE Financial, and Insurance.com. In 2003, YouZoom merged with Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, where J.J. assumed responsibility for the combined company's alternative distribution efforts. During this period, J.J. established additional e-commerce relationships, which now account for more than $60m in annual premium. J.J. graduated from Davidson College in 2000 with a double major (History and German) and earned his MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2006. In 2004, he and his wife co-founded gumshoe, a children's shoe store located in Burlingame, California. Michael Kassoff Michael Kassoff is in charge of technical development at SecondFloor. He is currently taking time off from his Ph.D. at Stanford University to be at SecondFloor. Michael's research is concerned with structured data management on the Internet, a topic on which he has published several papers and chaired multiple symposiums. His research led to the proprietary Correct-on-Capture⢠forms used by SecondFloor for data capture. Michael previously worked as a Web architect for govWorks.com and a developer for I.D. Systems, Inc. Michael received his M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2004 and his B.A. in Computer Science from Cornell University in 2000, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Michael Genesereth Michael Genesereth is the chief architect of Infomaster, upon which SecondFloor's technology is founded. Michael is an associate professor in the Computer Science Department at Stanford University, where he directs the Stanford Logic Group and CodeX (the Stanford Center for Computers and Law). He is most known for his work on Computational Logic and applications of that work in Enterprise Management and Electronic Commerce. Michael is one of the founders of Teknowledge, the premier company commercializing Artificial Intelligence; he is a co-founder of CommerceNet, the premier organization for electronic commerce on the Internet; and he is a founder of Mergent Systems, an early vendor of technology for integrated catalogs on the World-Wide Web. (Mergent was sold to Commerce One in 2000, which in turn was sold to Perfect Commerce in 2006.) Michael received his Sc.B. in Physics from M.I.T. and his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. |
